| Description | This firmware is applicable for: GIQ200, HIQ200, SIQ200. WARNING 1: updating to this version without a key results in a SMV200. NOTE 1: Axon recommends power-cycling the cards after the update process. NOTE 2: Please update all cards that make up a multiview chain. This goes for the G/HQW200 as well, which should be updated to version 2829. If not all cards in a multiview chain are updated, the colors on the SDI outputs may invert. NOTE 3: Axon recommends using the latest Cortex release in order to benefit from newly added settings. These will be made available in the Cortex GUI with the next Cortex release, until that time these settings may be done in the "Classic View" tab. Fixed: The VGA or DVI output device (i.e. PC) does not recognise the card, and does not give output to the card. (HW version 0102 and up only) Fixed: The VGA or DVI EDID information reported by the card was corrupted or not recognised by the attached device. (HW version 0102 and up only) Fixed: The card now supports the following input resolutions: DVI: SXGA60 (1280x1024 @ 60 Hz), XGA75 (1024x768 @ 75 Hz), XGA70 (1024x768 @ 70 Hz), XGA60 (1024x768 @ 60 Hz), SVGA75 (800x600 @ 75 Hz), SVGA60 (800x600 @ 60 Hz), VGA75 (640x480 @ 75 Hz), VGA60 (640x480 @ 60 Hz), WXGA-800 60 (1280x800 @ 60 Hz), VGA: UXGA- 60 (1600x1200 @ 60 Hz), SXGA60 (1280x1024 @ 60 Hz), XGA75 (1024x768 @ 75 Hz), XGA70 (1024x768 @ 70 Hz), XGA60 (1024x768 @ 60 Hz), SVGA75 (800x600 @ 75 Hz), SVGA60 (800x600 @ 60 Hz), VGA75 (640x480 @ 75 Hz), VGA60 (640x480 @ 60 Hz), WXGA-800 60 (1280x800 @ 60 Hz), SVGA72 (800x600 @ 72 Hz), The BIOS/DOS Textmode resolution (720x400 @ 70 Hz), HDMI unencoded, on DVI connector: 720p59.94, 720p50, 1080p23.98, 1080p24, 1080p25, 1080p30. Fixed: Breaking up a multiview might cause vertical lines. This has been solved by repainting the graphics layer when a card is pulled / re-inserted. Fixed: The vertical position of the image has been corrected. Fixed: Inputs 2,3 and 4 had more processing delay then input 1. Now, each input will run at minimal delay when using equal input and output framerates. Fixed: When placing video windows vertically adjacent to each other with no space in between, the image got corrupted where the windows met. Fixed: For the SDI output the colors between HD and SD inputs and the colors between a H/GIQ200 and a S/H/G-QW/MW showed differences. These have been corrected. Fixed: The error leds got corrupted at powerup. Fixed: Input 2 showing only even seconds when set to ATC timecode. Fixed: When UMD contains an empty string, a blue line was visible on the right side of the UMD. Fixed: Audio meters showed audio when no audio is present. Fixed: With SDI output, picture was aliasing, even with AA_filter setting set to soft. Filters now compensate for interlaced SDI output. Added more filter sets so picture does not alias with SD output. This improves the picture quality. Fixed: When loading preset files in Cortex, graphics did not update correctly. Fixed: Redrawing of lost graphics or erroneous graphics, due to preset change or window move, has been improved. Fixed: When starting up with stable signal, video showed black. After a signal event (format change or re-applying signal cable) the video output was recovered. Fixed: When inputs were not connected or had unstable signals connected, the video would go black or show a random pattern. Fixed: Audio meter values were not accurate due to a small offset. Fixed: When setting the UMD to a color other then grey, the edges of the UMD text were ugly. Now the text has neat edges. Fixed: SDI output now has corect color conversion when using mixed HD and SD inputs, like DVI output allready had. Fixed: Pixels from other windows were bleeding into the adjacent windows. Fixed: System now synchronizes to NTP time more often, keeping a more acurate track. Fixed: IP config changed from manual to DHCP when switching from appmode to bootmode. Fixed: Cards started up in boot mode occasionaly after powering up the frame. Fixed: Cards restarted during powerup, resulting in longer boot times. Fixed: Clock size has been limited to avoid rendering issues. Fixed: Timecode did not disappear when source was lost. Fixed: Graphics artifacts sometimes occured after powering on the card. Fixed: Y and C subchannel phase has been corrected, resulting in better picture quality. Fixed: When powered-up with dynamic tally active the card could enter bootmode. Fixed: SDI output only had half the framerate with 50/60 Hz output standards. Fixed: 3G SDI output showed line number error. Fixed: Graphics did not redraw when changing from 50Hz to 60Hz and viceversa. Fixed: A vertical line was visible at the right side of the UMD ant certain configurations. Fixed: 3G SDI only worked standalone, now multiview works as well. Fixed: A bad or unstable input signal could hang the card and caused it to go into bootmode. Added: Reference present status and LED. Added: Support for different input and output framerates. Now, a mix of 24,25,30,50 and 60 Hz framerates may be used on the input. The output will drop or repeat fields accordingly, allowing for input and output framerate mismatch, without resulting in field sequence errors. Added: 3D edit mode. This allows the output of the multiview to be used as a SideBySide output. Graphics are rendered at half width, inputs should be set anamorphic and scaled by manipulating the window size. Added: 4:3 masking safe area mode, where the areas outside the 4:3 zone are displayed at half luminance. Added: GPI control for the borders. Added: Support for TSLv4 UMD protocol. This facilitates multicolor Tally and UMD control. Added: Frame accurate time offset, to compensate for rendering delay. The user has to manually tune offset, as rendering delay is dependant on screen layout. This can be applied to any clock input source, be it ATC/VITC, LTC or NTP. Added: When setting any card in multiviewer to fullscreen or generator, preceding card inputs and following card outputs are turned off, so only the fullscreen of interest is shown. Added: On/Off setting per input window. Added: User definable text under clocks. Removed: Axon logo in analog clock. Added: support for TSL protocol v5. Added: Graphical notepad that displays text. Added: NTP offset in minutes, so NTP offset may be set to half and quarter hour offset timezones (Kabul,Tehran,Rangoon,Adelaide and others). |
| Note | Important notice:
Before you upgrade one of your Axon Synapse cards, please check the software version of the rackcontroller (RRC) that you are using. If you are running version 3100 please contact support@axon.tv to get the newest release of the rackcontroller software. We strongly recommend not to use version 3100 of the rackcontroller software while upgrading your cards as we have experienced some instability during reprogramming which can render your Synapse card in an unusable state.

This firmware is applicable for: GIQ200, HIQ200 and SIQ200.
