Description
This costed option allows you to connect, control and monitor thousands of third-party devices supporting the SNMP interface – such as servers, mixers, character generators, waveform monitors – all from within Cortex.
You start by scanning for and then adding SNMP devices to the System view. If a device’s MIB file is available Cortex can
set up status severities for any parameter you require. This generic data can be presented in several helpful ways, such as status priority, LEDs lights, and row or grid views. As with AXON’s Synapse range, control exclusions can be also added to any parameter of an SNMP controlled device. This enables you to tailor the access that users have to particular controllable features of a device. With passwords you can then allow different levels of access to different users, and keep critical routines perfectly safe and secure. The Cortex Form Designer lets you assign specific Object Identifiers (OID’s) to components to control and/or show the status of these parameters in the third party device. These controls can be mixed with those of native Synapse modules (using Axon Control Protocol). As with Cortex PV, there is no limit to the products that can be controlled or monitored via this interface. Everything
is designed so that you can easily add devices from different manufacturers onto the common control and monitoring interface provided by Cortex, without needing support or permission from the original supplier/manufacturer.
