Description
The costed Cortex Panel View option lets you design and display customised interfaces for any device controlled and monitored by Cortex.
Pictorial representations of the workflow, signal path or physical surroundings can be created and linked together to create a drill-down’ interface to which your operational and engineering teams can quickly relate. Users can monitor, control and locate information without needing to understand the operation of either the underlying software application
or physical aspects of an installation.
Cortex Layout Forms (CLFs) are made up of basic components and controls (buttons, bitmaps, labels, edit boxes, check boxes, multi-choice selections), which can be created and modified using the Cortex Form Designer. The Form Designer lets you change the behavior and appearance of each component, with the result that users get complete control over
the appearance and operation of the newly-created interface. A major benefit is that the user-interface to the system can change at the same time as the installation to which it relates without additional cost or deliverables.
Single form components can control multiple features within the same device, or multiple disparate devices, so that a range of operational routines can be carried out quickly and efficiently. Cortex’s ability to display forms-on-forms reduces the amount of time required to create the interface, as templates can be created for any duplicated aspects of the interface. Browser windows can also be embedded within a form, allowing the user to display additional information from external
data sources not normally accessed from within Cortex. For example, Browser windows can be used to display information from third-party devices if they have embedded WebServers or access system information such as system installation diagrams, contact details or help information. The Cortex interface can be simplified to a full-screen single view showing customised forms, enabling you to control
Cortex from a touch-panel interface without the need of a keyboard or mouse. This option is costed on a per-seat basis, and gives users the flexibility to control or monitor any aspect of any card in the Synapse range, or any device that Cortex is controlling.
