The TRACS Recorder and the eight-input encoder units are just 1RU high. Thanks to our innovative cooling design,containing several fans ensuring a front to back airflow, the units can be rack-mounted on top of each other. The biggest space-saver is the fact that there is no need for a tape storageroom. To record and store 20 channels for 90 days you wouldneed 5,400 VHS tapes, which together with the VHS-recorders,would occupy about 9m2 (100sq/ft) and 40RU. The equivalentTRACS system occupies just 22RU (with our eight-inputunits, that can even be reduced to 3RU, excluding third-partystorage), without the need for any tape storage space at all!
