New embedders & de-embeddersMarch 3rd, 2010

Axon has released a whole range of new embedders and de-embedders in HD-only and 3Gb/s/HD versions. All HD-only versions can be upgraded to 3Gb/s which allows for staged implementation of HD infrastructures and spreads the cost over multiple budget years. Whether the requirement is for 4 or 8 analog audio inputs/outputs (f.e HEB440 and HDB440) or for 4 or 8 AES/EBU inputs/outputs (HEB880 or HDB880) Synapse can now accommodate this.  In case the embedding or de-embedding of more audio channels is required (up to 16 channels / 4 groups) Synapse ADD-ON modules can be added; the Synapse daisy chain ‘ADD-ON‘bus’ will interface the audio from the ADD-ON module to the de-embedder/embedder (or vice versa). This architecture eliminates serial-to-parallel and parallel-to-serial conversions as well as two full reclocking stages. The ‘bus’ also carries the references and provides a passive inter-slot bus to transport data from one slot to the next.

In case audio routing for two individual SDI-streams is required the 500-series (analog audio, f.e. GEB550 or GDB550) and the 900-series (AES/EBU, GEB900 or GDB900) are available.

Relay bypass and fiber options are available through the I/O-panels. The fiber I/O-panels allow for direct conversion of the electrical signal to optical (or vice versa) in the same frame slot as where the embedding / de-embedding is performed.
